What inspires me to wake up on a weekend to attend my review classes are the facts that my parents have been paying thousands for this, and that our lecturers are UST professors. :))
Such a privilege! :*

Life Crisis
As I was going through my old files way back from high school and early years in college, I got hold of some print-outs and read this one.
The Quarter Life Crisis
by Unknown
It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are a lot of things about yourself that you didn't know and may or may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now.
You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you do not realize is that they are realizing that too and are not really cold or catty or mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.
You look at your job. It is not even close to what you thought you would be doing or maybe you are looking for one and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and are scared.
You miss the comforts of college, of groups, of socializing with the same people on a constant basis. But then you realize that maybe they weren't so great after all.
You are beginning to understand yourself and what you want and do not want. Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging a bit more that usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in you life and add things to your list of what is acceptable and what is not. You are insecure and then secure. You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.
You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you or you lay in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough to get to know better. You love someone but maybe love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you are not a bad person.
One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap and getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic. You go through the same emotions and questions over and over and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision.
You worry about loans and money and the future and making a life for yourself and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender!
What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.
it got me! it got me so hard that after reading it i just sat still for a while, caught myself staring at nothing in particular.
maybe at some point, when you thought everything's right at its proper place, that is when you realize you're experiencing a quarter life crisis.
get well soon.

Hello, 2012! I'm ready.
The year 2011 was quite a roller-coaster ride, not just for me but maybe for some as well. So let me express my warmest and sincerest gratitude to those that have made my year memorable and worth recalling for, ESPECIALLY to these people:
To my parents, whose constant love and support never fail me. There may be times that we don’t get along easy, but you guys remain top of my list as my inspiration. If not for the values and conducts you have imparted I wouldn’t have been the kind of person I am today. (this goes to the other members of my family and closest relatives as well)
To my dearest classmates, section 4F, thank you for entrusting me to be this year’s class president. And because of that, I have learned more the gift of responsibility. I hope in my own little ways I have given justice to that. There may be ups and downs for us, but what’s important is that we remained united as brothers and sisters in school.
To my clinical instructors, teachers, and mentors, thank you, not only for the lessons with the academe but also for the lifetime lessons you have taught. I will be brining this along throughout my life. Also, thank you for making me realize some skills and talents which I never thought I had. Hehehe. Lastly, thank you for molding me more to become better, the best.
To my bestfriends Nadine, Clyde, and Enzo, you have no idea how greatful I am for having you guys in my life. You may be different individuals but I consider you as my better-halves. Our moments together are truly momentous!
To those who have hurt me and put me into misery, I THANK YOU for the experiences that have indeed changed my life. I never regret that it had to happen in my life because, through that I know will become stronger as a person.
For those people whom I failed to mention, THANK YOU for being part of my 2011 and my life! I love you all. And most importantly, to our Almighty God the Father who have been the source of my life and strength. May this year, 2012, be prosperous not only for me but for everyone. Happy New Year!

Hello, 2012! I’m ready.
Happy birthday, Karlo
I remember the first time I held you in my arms 5 years ago. Happy birthday lil bro!
Ate loves you so much.
Eco-“Schoolism” …Classrooms from Plastic Bottles
Classroom shortage and garbage surplus are two sad realities our country faces. Every year, television churns out back-to-school news features of school kids crowding classrooms or taking shifts to make use of the limited space along with the figures on how many classrooms each province lacks. “We have to build new classrooms each year to keep up with increasing student population and replace ageing school buildings and those that were destroyed by calamities,” Education Secretary Armin Luistro was reported saying in the news.
Reports about garbage piling up on the streets and landfills are not new either. According to a study by the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia, Manila generates over 5,000 tons of solid waste per day – almost 75 percent of which comes from households. Moreover, the study showed that waste segregation (separating plastic, paper, food scraps and so on), is not widely practiced and that the recycling of materials(save for informal door-to-door entrepreneurs) is minimal.
Unbelievable Solution
But through the efforts of My Shelter Foundation, a non-profit group aimed at finding innovative solutions to fight climate change, the problem has been converted into part of the solution itself.
How? By building classrooms from old bottles that would otherwise end up as trash. “What used to be a problem in the environment is now part of a solution,” points out social entrepreneur Illac Diaz, who spearheaded the campaign to build Asia’s first school made out of recycled plastic and glass bottles. According to Diaz, who heads My Shelter Foundation, plastic bottles are ideal materials to use in construction because of their durability and availability. The use of bottles is a traditional building technique done in other countries. “We got inspired from structures such as Spanish adobe churches and buildings that incorporate glass bottles in Turkey and Mexico, which have all withstood the test of time,” Diaz shares further.
An average plastic bottles takes roughly 300 to 500 years to decompose. Though easy enough to recycle, these are often dumped along with other types of trash by thousands and thousands of household consumers, a practice which will overwhelm landfills for the next few centuries, if left unchecked.
Construction Process
Last year, My Shelter Foundation gathered as many 1.5 to 2 liter plastic bottles with the help of volunteers as possible. They even held several “Bottle School Runs” where racers paid using plastic bottles to join the marathon. Diaz says they chose soda bottles because these could be easily sourced from restaurants and hotels, the organizers transported all of these to the donated school site in San Pablo, Laguna, which is roughly a two-hour drive from Manila.
Dozens of volunteers helped in the construction process, which involved filling the plastic bottles with liquefied adobe to make the basic “bricks” for the school. The bottles cement holding the bottles in place and making the wall sturdier. Diaz says that the bottle bricks are actually three to four times stronger than conventional hollow blocks. Even construction workers on the site attest to the bottle school’s durability. Even though they had never built anything like it before, one worker said that the building was very strong and could withstand rain, typhoons an earthquakes better that traditional classrooms.
Rum Bottles, Corn Husk Boards Also Used
It took roughly 5,000 bottles to complete on classroom, which can seat roughly 40 students. In each finished classroom, two facing walls incorporate small holes and PVC pipes in between the bottle brick walls for better ventilation and for reducing the need for electric fans.
Instead of windows on facing walls, the building makes use of translucent rum bottles on the rafters surrounding a wide entrance to maximize natural light.
A panel board made of bamboo fiber, corn husk, and rice hull, which Diaz says are sourced locally, are used towards the back of the classroom, while the roof will incorporate recycled tetra packs to reflect more light into the room. Aside from the use of bottles and fiberboards, even the cement binding the bottles together makes use of sustainable materials.
Diaz explains that workers mix human hair and chicken feathers, which they source from barber shops and poultry farms in the area, as fiber filler to hold cement together, since cement mixed with fiber was found to experience 95 percent less cracking.
It took roughly a month to finish constructing the first of eight planned classrooms, which they only began in December of last year. As of mid-March, My Shelter Foundation was in the process of gathering the remaining 35,000 bottles needed for the rest of the classrooms, which they aimed to finish in time for the opening of classes this June.
Other Notable Works
My Shelter Foundation has proven track record in building sustainable, eco-friendly, low-cost, disaster-resistant structures. They were the pioneer group behind the Design Against the Elements (DAtE) architectural village, which will actually be built in Quezon City to benefit marginalized families.
My Shelter Foundation also founded the Pier One Seafarer’s Dormitory, a lodging place for Filipino seafarers located in a 2,500-square meter lot at Corte Real and Solana Streets in Intramuros Manila. The organization has also built schools out of indigenous materials, such as earthquake-proof “Earthen Schools,” bamboo schools and shelters for peanut farmers made out of peanut shells.
In one community in Surigao, students have replaced their makeshift nipa hut classrooms with “Earthen Schools” made mostly from packed soil, which are sturdy and easily made by local workers. The innovative construction is said to cost 40 percent less than conventional classrooms and can be put up easily in less time.
Meanwhile, the first school in the Philippines made mostly of bamboo and supported by steel and reinforced concrete stands in Barangay Nato, Sagnay, Camarines Sur. Classrooms there are said to be built to withstand gusty winds of over 150 miles per hour, in an area typically known for being battered by strong typhoons year after year.
One of their latest projects, called a “Liter of Light,” uses bulbs made out of plastic bottles and chemicals to provide alternative light to shanty communities in a bid to lower electricity bills and reduce the incidence of fires commonly cause by candles.

I'm Free.
Having him was no fun. I kept on chasing the love that eludes me. He kept it away like papers in a briefcase and I kept trying to get in there.

I'm free.
Happy Birthday, ME!
Happy birthday! Blessed with another year of countless blessings, and with people who have never failed to be with me all throughout. Mom & Pa, your constant love and support has always been one strong foundation for my strength to overcome every endeavor and trial in life (next to prayers). Your encouragements and guidance have truly helped me withstand it all. Soon, it's gonna be payback time. I will take note of that. :D
As I about to enter another turning point in my life, I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has become a part of my being. God bless you. :)

My friends call me Krix, & now I'm 19 years of age.
Spotify will be soon on Facebook?
Spotify is the streaming music provider Facebook will be adding to its popular social media site. What you ask, isn't it already part of Facebook Connect as part of the desktop interface? The answer is yes but the proposed move will give Facebook something they have wanted since Mark Zuckerberg's days as a student at Harvard.
A couple of months ago it was a music partnership with Warner Bros, now Facebook has reached out to Spotify to allow live streaming from it popular social media portal.
The Benefit
The news was first reported yesterday by Forbes. Facebook and Spotify are in the last testing phase with completion due within two weeks. Once it goes "live" Facebook users will see a Spotify icon on their page which will install the program and allow delivery of millions of songs. Perhaps the biggest feature is users will be able to listen to music simultaneously with their friends, and the sharing feature is one of the game changers which makes Facebook special.
U.S. Customers
The new service can solely be on the market for Facebook users in countries where Spotify is on the market which excludes the US.
Currently it's negotiating with music labels to bring its streaming service to the U.S. Assuming negotiations are successful, Facebook can then be ready to supply the service to its giant U.S. market. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later because there are millions of Facebook users in the U.S.
As mentioned in the Forbes article, "Facebook's ability to stream music will fulfill a long-held dream of founder Mark Zuckerberg."
Another note why this announcement is positive and a likely success is both companies share some of the same investors. Social media companies rely on this type of teamwork as they expand their presence while attempting to satisfy a very fickle international market . Customers rely on technology companies to bring the future to them, today! Several years ago most had no reason to pay attention to the word social media. Today, companies have made the word part of their everyday vernacular by launching new products daily.

Hooked-up!
As promised (to myself), here is a post I made about glee in which I got really hooked-up a few months ago. After my dad start downloading Glee episodes, everybody else in the family enjoyed every single one of 'em.
So, to start with... Here are the characters :)
source: http://www.wetpaint.com/glee/characters
So, to start with... Here are the characters :)
rachel berry
Rachel Berry is a perfectionist convinced that glee club is her ticket to stardom. When she was growing up, her two fathers gave her everything she needed to succeed. Now she always puts a gold star after she signs her name and uploads a new video of her singing to her MySpace page every day. She has a massive crush on Finn, the quarterback and a fellow member of New Directions, and she also entertains a mild crush on Mr Schuester (for one episode) and briefly dates Puck.
finn hudson
Finn Hudson is the very popular quarterback of McKinley High's football team...at least until he joins glee club. He lives with his single mother, Carole Hudson (Finn's dad died during Desert Storm), and he discovered his love of singing through Darren, a lawn specialist who had a brief fling with his mom. Beyond glee club, he temporarily joins Mr. Schue's Acafellas to perform at a PTA meeting in Episode 1.3, "Acafellas." His two-timing girlfriend, Quinn, sleeps with is best friend, Puck, and gets pregnant. She convinces Finn that the baby's his — even though they've never had sex. (Finn's a smart one.) Once Finn learns the truth about Quinn's baby-daddy (thanks to Rachel, natch), he quits the glee club, but ends up pulling it together enough to help them clinch victory at Sectionals
will schuester
(mr.schue)
Will is the Spanish teacher at William McKinley High School, his alma mater. As a student, he led Show Choir to Nationals in 1993, and at the time, it was cool to be in the club. He is now determined to return glee club to its former glory under the name "New Directions." He starts up an all-male acapella group with Ken Tanaka, Howard Bamboo, Henri St. Pierre, and Sandy Ryerson (temporary) called, "Acafellas," in Episode 1.3. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Terri Schuester, who has a Pottery Barn addiction and pretends to be pregnant (after a "hysterical pregnancy") in an attempt to keep Will in the marriage. He eventually discovers the truth and leaves Terri in Episode 1.12, "Once Upon a Mattress." At the same time, his interest in Emma Pillsbury, the school guidance counselor, grows.
quinn fabray
Quinn Fabray is Finn Hudson's girlfriend. She is a member of the Cheerios cheerleading team and President of Christ Crusaders (aka the Celibacy Club). She gets pregnant after sleeping with Finn's best friend Puck and leads Finn to believe the baby is his (even though they've never slept together). Once Mr. Schue's wife, Terri, hears about Quinn's accidental pregnancy, she's all over Quinn to "adopt" the baby as her own. Soon Quinn's secret about the baby's father gets out (thanks to some intuition and sleuthing by nosy Rachel). After Sectionals, Quinn decides she's going to take care of the baby on her own — without the help of Puck (who can't seem to get it together) or Finn (who's majorly pissed). Sue Sylvester cuts her from Cheerios in Episode 1.8, "Mash-Up," and her extremely religious father kicks her out of the house after learning of her pregnancy.
sue sylvester
(the bully)
Sue Sylvester is McKinley's cheerleading coach who loves being in the press. She has transformed her squad, the Cheerios, into an award-winning team. Threatened by the possibility that glee club could undermine her funding, she attempts to destroy New Directions. Principal Figgins fires her after she attempts to sabotage the glee club at Sectionals by leaking their set list to the other coaches.
artie abrams
Artie is a geeky guitarist in glee club. He was in a car accident with his mother when he was eight, and he has been paralyzed from the waist down ever since. He nurses a crush on Tina Cohen-Chang — until he finds out her stutter is fake. He's also written some Def Poetry Jams, which he offers to recite for Sectionals.
kurt hummel
Kurt Hummel is a soprano in glee with a flair for the dramatic. A self-named fashion iconoclast, he counts Marc Jacobs among his faves. His mom died when he was six years old, and he was raised by his single dad, a former high school and college football player who owns a garage. Kurt comes out to his father in Episode 1.4, "Preggers," and his father is very supportive. They enjoy a close relationship despite not having much in common. Beyond glee club, Kurt is the kicker for the McKinley High football team. He harbors a secret crush on Finn Hudson.
mercedes jones
Mercedes Jones is glee's dynamic, blinged-out diva-in-training who refuses to sing back-up. She proves she's just as talented as Rachel Berry (if not more so) when she belts out the Dreamgirls torch song "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" in preparation for Sectionals. In Episode 1.3, "Acafellas," Brittany and Santana convince Mercedes that BFF Kurt likes her, so she pursues him. In a panic, Kurt tells Mercedes that he has a crush on Rachel, which prompts hot-tempered Mercedes to bust his SUV window. Kurt comes out to her at the end of the episode.
noah "puck" puckerman
(i really don't have this thing for mohawks, but this guy's an exemption! total hottie :D)
Puck is an arrogant, mohawked football player and bully who ends up joining glee club. He has a weakness for "cougars" (picked up via his pool cleaning business) and temporarily joins Mr. Schue's Acafellas in Episode 1.3 — solely to entertain married women at the PTA meeting where they perform. He sleeps with — and impregnates — his best friend Finn Hudson's girlfriend, Quinn Fabray. Although Puck wants to step up and be the father, Quinn doesn't want to raise her baby with a Lima loser. When she does give him a chance, he won't stop "sexting" with Santana, proving to Quinn that he'll never give up his playah ways. He dates Rachel, a fellow Jew (his mother wants him to date a nice Jewish girl), in Episode 1.8, but she dumps him because he likes Quinn and she likes Finn.
tina cohen-chang
(the Asian)
Although she's shy and insecure, Tina shines when she's singing in glee with her friends. In the sixth grade, Tina faked a stutter to get out of presenting a speech. When she realized it made people leave her alone, she continued to fake it. She reveals this to Artie, who has a crush on her, in Episode 1.9, "Wheels," and wheelchair-bound Artie is disappointed that they don't actually share a disability.
mike chang
(the other Asian)
Mike is a football player who joins the glee club in Episode 1.4, "Preggers."Along with Brittany, he's one of the best dancers in the club.
santana lopez
Santana is one of Quinn Fabray's Cheerio friends who sings in glee club. Although she initially joins the club as a spy for Sue Sylvester, she eventually comes to enjoy it. The master "sexter" has hooked up with Puck, the father of Quinn's baby, as well as her BFF Brittany.
brittany s. pierce
Brittany is one of Quinn Fabray's Cheerio friends who joins glee club. She's an airhead who spies for Sue Sylvester — she passes the New Directions Sectionals set list to Sue — and claims to have had sex with BFF Santana Lopez. Along with Matt Rutherford and Mike Chang, she's one of the best dancers in the club. Homegirl also knows her "hairography."
emma pillsbury
(the OC)
Emma Pillsbury is the guidance counselor at McKinley High School who has a deep fear of germs. This "mysophobia" stems from an unfortunate incident from her childhood: When she was little, her family visited a dairy farm and her brother pushed her into a runoff creek (a mixture of fecal matter, blood, and spoiled feed). (Note: Being pushed into a runoff creek can actually kill a person!) She cannot forget the smell or the experience. Along with her intense aversion to dirt and germs, she harbors a secret crush on Will Schuester. Still, she gets engaged to Ken Tanaka in a last-ditch bid to ward off loneliness. Fed up with Emma's persistent love for Will (the tip-off was her pushing their wedding time back so that she could escort glee club to Sectionals), Ken leaves her on their wedding day. The same day, Will drops the bomb on Emma that he's left his wife Terri, but instead of rushing into his arms, Emma quits her job at McKinley High. As she's leaving school with her things, Will runs after her and they finally share a very adorable kiss in the hallway.
First appeared on Season 2
sam evans
(oh Chord, you stole my heart!)
Sam Evans is one of the newer members of New Directions. Slightly goofy (and prone to spontaneous Matthew McConaughey impressions), Sam's stock increased considerably when he won the position of starting quarterback at McKinley High. An injury knocked him out of commission for a while, but it also gave him plenty of time to cozy up to new girlfriendQuinn. Did we mention that his closest friend at McKinley is Finn, who also happens to be Quinn's ex? Awk-ward!
Sam's first song was a dynamite rendition of Travie McCoy's "Billionaire,"which impressed the group. We'll see how things progress between him and Quinn as the series continues, but one thing is certain: We're not going to tire of seeing shirtless shots of Sam anytime soon. More, please!

Blaine is an out-and-proud member of Dalton Academy's Warblers vocal group. He meets Kurt when Kurt is spying on the Warblers, but the two become fast friends. Blaine takes Kurt under his wing, and when Kurt transfers to Dalton, he quickly develops a crush on the very crushable Blaine. Blaine's first Glee song is an amazing cover of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream."
